Tradeshows are still a terrific way to reach your audience. But what makes your exhibit different from the next? How will they recall your brand versus your competitors? The key is to engage with your audience. The more senses they use with your brand, the more they will remember your message.

Don’t just set up your exhibit and expect that 100-photo slide show of your work to be as exciting to your audience as it is to you.

Get in the minds of your audience. How can you get them interested in your product, your brand and your exhibit? How can you entice them into your exhibit and then encourage them to stay long enough to discuss your message points.

Momentum Communications was honored to take part in Operation North Pole this year to watch a group of very special children and their families board a Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train for a fantasy trip to the North Pole with Mrs. Claus to meet Santa.

Operation North Pole is a charity devoted to bringing the joy of the season to children suffering from life-threatening illnesses and their families by providing a fun-filled day of respite, including the train ride, breakfast with Mrs. Claus and a visit with Santa at his workshop. Operation North Pole’s goal is to alleviate the financial and emotional burdens of coping with illness for all the members of a family and provide for what for some families may be their only holiday celebration.

Search engine results have become the business world’s who’s who. Everyone not only wants to be on the first page – they want to be on top. And, rightfully so. We all know we click from top-down.

Just like vying to get on any prestigious list, some people will try to buy their way onto the list, others will “work” their way to the top, and others will sit back and watch everyone else with wonder.

Well, we are often asked by our clients… Can you get us to the top of the list? Not always an easy answer. It depends on so many factors. We have to look at how their clients are searching, what their competitors are doing to get on the top, and what marketing campaigns they have already.

The bottom line? Yes, like almost everything … money can buy your way to the top, but what do you do when you don’t have it? What does it mean to work your way to the top?

Just like good ole-fashioned business networking… you need to get out there and get connected.

You need to have a strong presence (web site with SEO copy), get connected to the right people (link to associations and vice versa) and get well known (use your PR campaigns to generate media coverage that will increase links and populate the engines). To climb the search engine ladder, develop a great online reputation and be a social butterfly. Google recently announced they will be incorporating “social” into their mainstream search results. Read this article to learn how the size of your trusted social network and your participation are going to be even more important factors in your SEO efforts very soon.

And, when you make it to the top… don’t forget the people who helped you get there.

At Momentum Communications we’ve never been short on words. And clients often share that they love our emails full of new ideas and notes packed with industry advice. So, why create a blog? Why take our thoughts and post them online for the world to see?

For exactly the same reasons we tell our clients:
